On Signal Mountain, about 1810 ,a wealthy Spaniard fleeing from the revolution with 60 horses packed with treasure, buried the gold and silver here then crossed into Mexican California, The Spaniard, his family and indian servants then vanished in the desert. Around 1900 the bones of numerous skeletons, breast plates and armour was found in the Borrego Desert. Evidence indicated that the remains were those of the party. but the huge treasure store was never recovered. su amigo jaime acosta o. batopilas |
