Legends of various sorts of treasures are numerous in this
comparatively unkonwn region. Treasue caches of gold and silver, made
by the Jesuit father of missions when they were expeled from the
dominions of the territory in the 1760s are still unfound. This area
has already produced much trasure. An American found three bags of
doubloons and pieces of eight along with ten bars of silver hidden in
the ruins of an ancient subterranean chapel near Torres Junction Sonora.
